Overview
The Machame Route, often called the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most scenic and rewarding ways to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This route approaches the mountain from the south and passes through lush rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and the arctic summit zone.
The 6-day itinerary is designed for trekkers who are physically fit and comfortable with long hiking days. The route offers dramatic landscapes, strong acclimatization, and an exciting summit push via Stella Point to Uhuru Peak.

This route includes steep sections, high-altitude trekking, and a long summit night. Previous hiking experience and good physical fitness are strongly recommended.
